As a young man, I used to relish every opportunity I could to go hiking and mountaineering. To a limited degree, I still do, though my joints wouldn’t allow me to take on Yosemite the same way I did years ago. Even taking pleasant walks through some of the more touristy areas of national parks today is more than enough for me.
Of course, for the days when I’m city-bound, my alternative had always been two of my longtime standbys—Central Park and the Bronx Zoo. From time to time, I take it upon myself to take pictures of the wildlife that made their home in the city.
